There are various ways to contact a librarian for assistance. Choose the method that works best for you!
In Person: Visit the Reference Desk on the first floor of the library. A librarian is available to assist you during hours when the library is open.
In-Depth Research Consultation: A Reference Librarian is available to help you identify useful information sources, learn to search databases effectively, or just get started in the library. To make an appointment call the Reference Desk at (925) 473-7575, or use our Research Consultation Appointment Form. Online appointment scheduling is not available over the summer. It will resume in fall.
Google+ Hangouts In-Depth Research Consultation: Get online research assistance with a librarian from wherever you are. A reference consultation using Google+ Hangouts means you can see and hear the librarian you are working with, as well as the database you can use for your research.
In order to meet with a Reference Librarian via Google Hangouts, you must sign up for a free Google+ account, have access to the internet, a webcam, microphone and speakers. There is a computer station at the Brentwood Center that is set-up to accommodate Google+ Hangout research consultations.
