Nina G.Stuttering Interrupted: The Making of a Stuttering Stand Up Comedian
By night Nina G is a comedian performing at comedy clubs and keynote speaker. By day she is a counselor at a community college where she works with student with disabilities. In 2015 she premiered her one person show Going Beyond Inspirational and produced the first ever comedy compilation album of all comedians with disability aptly titled Disabled Comedy Only. Her Tedx Talk, The Everyday Ally, is helping to teach people without disabilities to be effective allies and to look at disability through a social justice lens. Daniel BeaverMaintaining an Intimate Connection in an Age of Digital Communication Dan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and has a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California State University, East Bay and a B.A. in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley. He received specialized training in Masters and Johnson-style sex therapy, and has practiced as a sex therapist for over forty-five years. He started his private practice in 1973 and co-founded the Relationship Counseling Center of Walnut Creek in 1974. He continues to provide individual and couples therapy today. Dan is currently an instructor at Los Medanos College, Pittsburg, California where he teaches Psychology of Human Sexuality. He has also have been a faculty member at J.F.K. University, California State University East Bay, and Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. He is a popular speaker and presenter for education, business, and community groups. Dan is the author of three books, Creating the Intimate Connection, More Than Just Sex, and Love Yourself, which was just published this year.

Hailey SolaresLatinx and Cultural Acceptance Hailey is currently in her third semester at Los Medanos College, a member of the LMC Honors Program and aspires to transfer to a four-year university within the next year. She started off her college experience as a Biology major, but joining the debate team at Los Medanos and participating in debates that deal with controversial topics about nations all around the world, issues of justice, and culture opened her eyes to her true passion: International Relations. With this passion she hopes to someday work for the United Nations or for a non-profit organization that advocates for social change. Hailey is someone who is truly passionate about social justice and how the nations of the world, despite our differences, can come together to form reconciliation.

Hannah SiddiquiHow My Food Allergies Destroyed My Body-And Then Healed It Hannah is a writer, photographer, and founder of theroadtohannah.com, a life and style blog dedicated towards "reinventing sustainable style and conscious living for the modern day go-getter." Having built up a global following comprised of fashion lovers and environmentalists alike, Hannah is excited to have the opportunity to turn her work inwards, and spread the message of sustainability to her local community.

Nilton ServaHow Entrepreneurship Saved My Life Nilton Serva is a 20-year-old Latinx male who has demonstrated that even a street thug like him can become a public speaker and entrepreneur. Nilton has been incarcerated twice as a juvenile. During his incarceration, he taught himself the principles of business and personal development. Since his release of last year, Nilton has accomplished many things from doing several keynote speeches to presenting research at Stanford for the Honors Symposium. He’s also started a digital media company with his brothers, Dean and George, called SERVAMEDIA. They aim to infuse tech with media and offer an immersive cross-cultural experience from digital marketing to producing creative content. These are a few examples of what Nilton has accomplished but most importantly he is now a TEDx Speaker. |

Al-ameen IsholaThe Future of Race Relations: Comparing the U.S. to Germany Al-ameen has spoken at Stanford University within a professional setting at the Bay Honors Research Symposium. He enjoys public speaking and loves finding opportunities to do so. In the four years that he has been at Los Medanos College, he has spoken in many classes and participated in clubs and government that have given him opportunities to make his voice heard. |

Brianne VisayaThe Complex Triangle Between Us, Earth, and the Future Brianne is a civil and environmental engineering major at Los Medanos College. She is a member of the Honors Program, MESA, AGS, and Circle K International. Through these educational communities, Brianne was able to present independent research at UC Berkeley, Stanford, and a CCURI (Community College Undergraduate Research Initiative) Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. She has interned with the California Academy of Sciences, the City of Antioch, CalRecycle, NASA Ames Research Center and, currently, the City of Pittsburg's Engineering Department. When she's not busy with school and internships, she loves to volunteer at the USS Hornet restoring air crafts, hiking, mushroom hunting, and traveling! |
